Mission

The Bee Kind Project honors the life and legacy of our beloved daughter Emma Huke, who tragically passed away in a plane crash in San Diego on May 22, 2025 at the age of 25. Emma was a force of nature, larger than life, and a beacon of kindness and positivity. She had an infectious spirit, ginormous smile, and constantly inspired and uplifted those around her. She loved openly, accepted everyone, and brought people together with her positivity and kind hearted nature.
The Bee Kind Project's mission is to empower and uplift communities through programs that reflect Emma's passion for music, reading and justice, while honoring her life, building a legacy and inspiring future generations by:
Providing scholarships for young people pursuing the arts and literature
Funding inclusive music and literacy programs in schools and community centers
Supporting mental health and advocacy resources for LGBTQ+ youth and their families
Creating safe, affirming spaces where all young people can express themselves freely and fearlessly
Rooted in kindness, creativity, compassion and equity, the Bee Kind Project carries forward the values Emma championed—ensuring that her love, voice, and courage live on in action, and keep her light shining in the world.
